This is exhibited not only by classic indicators such as car and motorcycle production and sales number hitting record numbers, but by the continued development of large luxury shopping malls together with high-end apartments and business offices in Jakarta and other urban centers. While such economic growth is welcomed, Indonesia faces many of the same issues as other rapidly developing countries in urban planning, traffic control, pollution, etc.

In the future this country will continue to develop as other advanced nations, driven by a large, young population and rich natural resources. Assuming Indonesia can rise to the challenges of managing increasingly complex infrastructure requirements and a more diverse economy, growth prospets remain strong.
